Attorney Padgett Got Locked In Jail!

That sounds bad. What really happened? Attorney Padgett was visiting a person in jail. This person had requested Attorney Padgett to visit them for a specific concern they had. Attorney Padgett is very busy but made time to go see this person. While there at the jail, the jail had a security lock down…with Attorney Padgett still inside.

So, Attorney Padgett was there at jail for 4 hours! At other law firms, they would have billed a client at an hourly attorney fee rate for that extra attorney time spent. We did not bill this person for this jail lock down time. It was not the person’s fault the jail trapped his attorney inside. Therefore, we provided extra service to this person just because their case required and needed it.
